Chemical storage

Chemical storage

Precautions for storage of chemical raw materials

Common factors affecting the stability of chemical raw materials
Sunlight: visible decomposition or reaction of chemicals.
Heat: heat decomposition or reaction of chemicals.
Oxygen and carbon dioxide in the air: react with oxygen or carbon dioxide.
Water and water vapor: reacts with water or deliquesces after absorbing water vapor.
Others: when the ambient temperature changes dramatically, due to the change of solubility, crystallization and physical properties are caused.
1) Raw materials shall be stored in a ventilated, dry and cool place.
2) Raw materials shall be placed on the formwork in a classified way, so as to keep them in order and prevent collapse. Dangerous chemicals shall be stored separately.
3) After classified placement, cover with rainproof cloth and fix it to prevent wind from blowing away.
4) Mark the classified raw materials (such as material name, dangerous goods, etc.).
5) Raw materials that are easy to decompose and volatilize when exposed to light and heated shall be stored in a ventilated and cool place.
6) Raw materials that are easy to be deliquesced and have strong water absorption should be stored in a ventilated and dry place.
7) The raw materials that can react with each other shall be kept away from each other and stored separately.
8) Chemicals with different chemical properties or conflicting fire extinguishing methods shall not be stored in the same room.
9) The stacking of liquid barreled raw materials shall be stable and no more than three layers.
For the stability of raw materials, please refer to relevant chemical manuals, such as hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid, etc., which are raw materials that are easy to see light, decompose and volatilize when heated; sodium hydroxide, sodium nitrite, sulfamic acid, etc., which are raw materials that are easy to deliquesce and have strong water absorption; for example, sodium nitrite and acids are raw materials that can react with each other. Therefore, chemical raw materials Pay special attention to storage
